Give a tired piece of furniture a new purpose simply by moving it into the bathroom. If you have a bedside table or cabinet that you’re thinking of throwing out, stop! It could be useful in your bathroom and would be a far more affordable way to include storage than a built-in unit. A natural varnished finish will look great in a traditional space, while a coat of paint would make classic styles more suitable for a modern scheme.
This room shows just how significant an impact your flooring can have. The pattern adds loads of character to this space and helps to define the shower area, with its plain white shower tray. Marble wall tiles pick out the grey tones of the flooring, too, and add a luxury feel to the scheme. A full-length mirror at one end is great for reflecting light and making the room feel larger than it is.
Try metro style tiles in mid grey for a modern bathroom with an industrial edge. Alternate tiles between dado and full ceiling height to match the different splashback and shower functions around the room. Keep the look co-ordinated by painting untiled sections of wall to match your grout. Pick a contrasting accent shade like zesty yellow for accessories.
Who says a family bathroom can’t have hotel style? In a predominantly white bathroom, pick a single and distinct decorative feature and run with it. In this large room modern green mosaic tiles create a polished, hotel-style finish. A clever built-in cistern adds additional storage space, while an extra long basin has plenty of room for little ones’ teeth brushing. Solve ground floor privacy issues with smart window film.
