Inject colour into a neutral room with a bold and striking patterned wallpaper. Pasted onto one wall it acts as a feature, which can be complemented with accent accessories and cushions. Balance a bright colour, such as this bold orange, with a plain carpet and neutral bed linen, allowing the wallpaper to lift the whole bedroom scheme.
Try an alternative to expensive decorative wallpaper. Paint a wall lavender for a pretty backdrop. Take a decorative roller with a raised leaf or floral pattern, roll in a contrasting paint shade and apply the pattern up and down the wall. Don’t worry about being exact any imperfections will add to the hand rolled charm. Fit long lasting tongue and groove for a practical shelf that oozes country style.
A winged bed frame is a grand statement piece and will set the tone for a whole room. Layer it up with bold printed bedding and a cosy throw boasting a pompom trim – perfect for snuggling. Add more wow with vibrant accessories. Don’t be afraid to mix and match lamp shades and bases for an eclectic look and introduce some metallic accents for ultimate opulence.
Make an ornately patterned wallpaper modern by working it in stronger colour palette. Layering pattern on pattern creates a vibrant, upscale American vibe. Very East Coast.
