A trend continuing from last year, wood and butcher-block countertops are still hot. It’s a beautiful look for the kitchen in addition to it being an amenity that home chefs love. If you’re looking for a sustainable countertop option, reclaimed wood is a great addition to the kitchen.
A drop ceiling, fluorescent lighting, and oversize appliances in the existing kitchen signaled the need for a major redesign. To blend the room with the living spaces, the team pushed all of the cabinetry and appliances along one long wall, creating an unencumbered flow from one end of the house to the other.
Any blank surface can become an inspiring spot with the addition of a mural. Stencil or handpaint a design on a wall or the kitchen island, or choose a scenic wallpaper to give the look of a mural without the painstaking painting.
Also known as a G-shaped kitchen, this layout has an extra counter that extends from a U-shaped kitchen. Use that extra counter area for casual dinners or your morning coffee. Pull up a few barstools and take advantage of an extra dining spot.
