Combine maritime elements for a yacht club inspired look. Use smart stripes to add colour to the pale walls and team it with a co-ordinating rug for a cohesive and considered look. On the windows, opt for a Venetian-style blind to inject coastal-style, as well as to let light in without compromising on privacy. Complete the look with seaside-inspired accessories and rich blue linens.
The natural veining of marble makes for a stunning backdrop to a walk-in shower. Go for a large-scale tile for the best effect and choose varying colours to create a beautiful patchwork. Using the same tiles from floor to ceiling makes the shower look almost seamless. Here, a small step has been added to accommodate practical drainage, but in fact it only adds to the luxurious feel.
Pick out two contrasting shades and team with black. In this room the tiles have been fitted ceiling to floor in a jaw-dropping diagonal cascade, with black tiles marking out the doorway and complementing a jet black doubled-ended bath tub. A simple teak wood shelf and towel ladder complete a gorgeously unconventional room.
Use tiling to emphasise or flatter the shape of a room. Put together a monochrome scheme using white fittings and black tiles and transform a compact space into a bathroom with a real sense of luxury. Create a distinctive break between the two colours, and a low slanted ceiling becomes a feature rather than a problem element of the room.
